Beyoncé's cécred line finally delivers: does it live up to the hype?
Beyoncé’s beauty empire just expanded, and the buzz is real. Cécred, the hair care brand launched in 2024 with a promising foundation collection, has now added a styling line. But after two collections, does it finally deliver on the promise of effortless, healthy-looking hair?

A haircare evolution: from foundation to finish
Initially, Cécred’s debut collection focused on strengthening and prepping hair with its Foundation line, boasting a patent-pending bio-fermented keratin. The subsequent Protection collection tackled detangling and scalp health. The brand’s focus had been on building a healthy base – the kind of foundation needed for any styling endeavor.
The real question, however, was always about the finishing touch. “We’d already built a healthy foundation with our Foundation and Protection collections, and now with Styling, we can make sure the way we finish the hair supports everything that came before it,” explains Neal Farinah, Beyoncé’s hairstylist.
Farinah reveals the Styling Collection was born from the demands of Beyoncé's recent Cowboy Carter tour. The grueling schedule, with its relentless exposure to heat, humidity, and constant styling, forced a re-evaluation of what truly works. “If it couldn’t survive movement and moisture and still look incredible under lights in front of everyone, it didn’t make it,” he says.
The collection features six products designed to protect hair fiber with the brand’s StemShield Complex, formulated to withstand up to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. The formula aims to provide protection without sacrificing movement or hold, a delicate balance many styling products fail to achieve.
The Thermal Shield Mist, described as a fine, non-sticky spray, is a key component. The Volumizing Mousse, Farinah’s go-to, offers touchable hold for everything from blowouts to curls. For a sleek finish, the Silk Glaze, a gel-serum hybrid, delivers a glass-like shine and tames frizz. The results? A blowout that lasted a full week – a significant improvement over the typical three-day lifespan.
Even for those not navigating the demands of a global tour, the collection offers a path to better hair. Farinah emphasizes that great styling is about achieving a creative, flawless look while maintaining hair health. The Cécred Styling Collection isn’t just for professionals; it's designed for anyone seeking salon-worthy results at home.
